Located in the heart of Strasbourg, the Institute of Image-Guided Surgery of Strasbourg (IHU) is a unique multidisciplinary medical and surgical center committed to the creation and dissemination of innovative image-guided therapies. The IHU Strasbourg, a scientific cooperation foundation which has been awarded accreditation within the framework of the « Investments for the Future » Program is:

  • A healthcare center offering personalized, safe and optimized care using the least invasive techniques,
  • An experimental, clinical and artificial intelligence research centre bringing together internationally renowned teams to design and develop the instruments and procedures of tomorrow,
  • An international training center for professionals and students driven to learn minimally invasive practices.

The candidate will be part of the CAMMA(Computational Analysis and Modelling of Medical Activities) artificial intelligence research team, teamed with the Image-guided Surgery of Strasbourg (IHU) and the ICube laboratory of the University of Strasbourg, headed by Prof. Nicolas Padoy. CAMMA is an international and multi-disciplinary team comprising 30 researchers (computer scientists and clinicians) aiming to develop new tools based on medical image analysis, computer vision and machine learning to assist the activities of operating personnel. CAMMA has access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and high-performance computing resources allowing for rapid prototyping, all in a quality work environment.

This position is jointly supervised with the Anatomic Pathology Laboratory of the University Hospitals of Strasbourg, on the Hautepierre Hospital site in Strasbourg, under the direction of Professor Chenard, Head of Department.

The profile sought after is that of an anatomopathologistwishing to develop skills in the field of artificial intelligence and processing of health-related data, and more particularly histological data (the candidate is not required to know how to code).

  • For holders of a European Medical Degree: the position will be split between 70% research time at the IHU Strasbourg and 30% clinical time (with focus on the research theme) in the Anatomic Pathology Laboratory of Professor MP Chenard
  • For candidates without a European Degree: the position will be 100% research, both in the clinical field and in the field of artificial intelligence. However an observation day in the pathology department could be considered.
