Surgical ultrasound University Diploma
Image-Guided Therapies
The IGT program covers the entire spectrum of surgical and percutaneous therapies in the digestive field. The curriculum is designed for radiologists and surgeons to acquire the principles and advanced techniques of abdominal interventions in adults. Training is provided by internationally renowned experts. Courses, either academic (DU and Master) or continuing medical education, combine online theory, hands-on practice on simulators and models, and clinical experience. Hands-on practice takes place on IHU’s experimental platform The IHU’s experimental platform equipped with state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment.
Objectives
The aim of this course is to teach candidates about the basic principles of ultrasound and the handling of an ultrasound scanner, but also to give medical specialists in digestive tract pathologies the necessary skills to efficiently integrate ultrasound in their daily practice. In particular, this diploma meets surgeons’ need to include ultrasound imaging in the pre-, per- and post-operative management of their patients.
